History:
The poster is based on a booklet titled in Italian Dolomiti dove passa la SAD” (“The SAD Passes Through the Dolomites”). The booklet was published by the SAD – Società Automobilistica Dolomiti, a regional bus company, in 1929.

The poster was designed by Franz Lenhart for the SAD - Dolomiti Automobile Company in 1929 and printed by the Soc. Edit. Dolomites - Cortina.

This image is among his early work before Lenhart’s real breakout work started for the ENIT. According to the South Tyrol Museum of Tourism (where many of the places Lenhart featured were located):
